One Real Madrid star to return vs Pachuca, with another to follow vs Salzburg | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid are hopeful of welcoming two important players back to matchday duties over the days ahead.

That’s according to journalist Sergio Quirante of DAZN, who points towards Antonio Rüdiger and Kylian Mbappé as the pair in question.

Defender Rüdiger has for his part been sidelined since back in April, after being forced under the knife to repair a knee problem.

After returning to training this week, though, the hope is that the German international will be available to play at least some part against Pachuca on Sunday.

Frontman Mbappé, meanwhile, was also forced to sit out Real Madrid’s Club World Cup opener in midweek, owing to a bout of illness.

The Frenchman is understood to be on the mend, though, making strides towards a comeback of his own.

Mbappé, in turn, should be given the green light to face RB Salzburg in Los Blancos’ final CWC group stage fixture next Friday.
