Micho ousts Zinnbauer in Algeria

Former Orlando Pirates coaches Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and Josef Zinnbauer clashed in the Algerian Ligue 1 on Friday night.

It was the Serbian mentor, Micho, who guided his side, ES Setif, to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the German's JS Kabylie.

Imadeddine Boubekeur scored the decisive goal in the 73rd minute, before Setif had their second goal ruled out in the 85th minute.

As a result, Micho has won his first match in the Algerian topflight this season in what was his second attempt since his appointment as Setif boss last month.

Setif climbed up to 11th with 15 points accumulated from 12 league outings and have also booked their place in the Algerian Cup Round of 16 last Friday.

Meanwhile, for Zinnbauer, the defeat added more pressure as his side has now gone six matches without a win across all competitions.

JSK dropped to 10th in the Algerian top flight standings, having amassed 15 points in 11 games, and were knocked out of the Algerian Cup by second tier side USM El Harrach one week ago.

It remains to be seen whether Zinnbauer can turn things around as the 14-time Algerian champions are also struggling in the CAF Champions League, sitting bottom of Group B.
