Things are moving quickly in the transfer market as the World Cup comes into view. One player expected to be a breakout star at the tournament is Yan Diomande, and his many club transfer suitors would probably like to get a deal done before he potentially shines for Ivory Coast.

Liverpool are favourites to get that deal done, according to a report from David Ornstein today. He says the  “Merseyside club are also in the strongest position with the player over a potential deal at present.”

Liverpool closer but PSG have one trump card

But we can’t rule out PSG, who clearly want a new attacking option and have Diomande on their list:

“Paris Saint-Germain maintain a strong interest of their own but are not currently as advanced as Liverpool, who have a ready-made slot in the team following Mohamed Salah’s departure,” Ornstein adds.

“PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi does, however, hold a good relationship with Red Bull managing director Oliver Mintzlaff.”

It’s been established that Diomande is a PSG fan, which should help break the tie if there is one.

In other news…

There are a lot of conflicting stories out there about potential PSG interest in Eli Junior Kroupi – do they want him, or do they not?

Even without Kroupi joining Bradley Barcola could leave PSG this summer, with talks planned about his future. There is interest from Premier League teams – it all depends on what he wants to do.
