Osimhen’s Champions League reunion with Spalletti after 49 Napoli goals and Serie A title | OneFootball

The upcoming Champions League meetings between Juventus and Galatasaray will mark a reunion between Luciano Spalletti and Victor Osimhen, who won the Serie A title at Napoli in 2022-23.

Juventus were paired against Galatasaray in the Champions League knockout play-off on Friday, setting up a meeting between Bianconeri coach Spalletti and the Turkish giants’ striker Osimhen.

Less than three years ago, the pair won a historic Serie A title at Napoli, the first one in 33 years for the Partenopei.

Osimhen greatly contributed to Napoli’s milestone with 26 goals that made him the Serie A’s Capocannoniere for 2022-23.

Overall, Osimhen scored 49 goals and provided 12 assists in 71 appearances under Spalletti at the Stadio Maradona.

The Nigerian forward netted five times in six Champions League games at Napoli under the Italian tactician, plus four in the 2021-22 Europa League and 40 across two Serie A campaigns.

Spalletti left Napoli right after winning the Scudetto in 2023, while Osimhen spent one more year at the Stadio Maradona, joining Galatasaray, initially on loan in 2024, and then on a permanent deal since 2025.

Osimhen has scored 50 goals in 60 appearances with the Turkish giants.
