The winger struck on 40 minutes with a fine finish, sitting Otamendi down then deceiving Trubin before netting Porto’s second.

Aged 17 years and nine months, he surpassed Carlos Nunes, in 1933, and Serafim, in 1962, who were both 18 when they scored for Porto against Benfica.

Across all meetings between the clubs, he ranks second youngest, behind Benfica’s Guilherme Espírito Santo, who scored at 17 years and four months in 1937.

It was Pietuszewski’s second successive league goal. The former Jagiellonia player also became only the second Polish player to score against Benfica, after Bednarek in January in the cup.
