Osmar Stabile and Marcelo Paz meet Carlo Ancelotti at Mineirão as Corinthians draw 1-1 with Cruzeiro | OneFootball

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians president Osmar Stabile and football executive Marcelo Paz met Carlo Ancelotti at the Mineirão on Wednesday while watching a 1-1 draw with Cruzeiro in the Brasileirão.

Paz later posted on Instagram to thank Cruzeiro president Pedrinho for the welcome and for arranging the meeting. Rodrigo Caetano, the CBF's director of men's national teams, also took part in the brief exchange.

Corinthians presented the Italian coach with a club shirt. Ancelotti was at the stadium to assess players who could make his next squad, due to be announced on 16 March, for friendlies against France and Croatia. It will be the final call-up before World Cup selections are settled.

Since Ancelotti took charge in May last year, Hugo Souza has been the only Corinthians player called up. The goalkeeper made all four lists and was withdrawn from the most recent FIFA window through injury. His only start came on 14 October, a 3-2 friendly defeat to Japan.

The draw left Corinthians third in the league on seven points after four rounds. Dorival Júnior's side are next in action on Saturday against Novorizontino at 20:30 at the Jorge Ismael de Biasi, in the Paulistão semi-final.
