Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Brestois clashed on Saturday night as a preview of their UEFA Champions League knockout playoff tie with the Parisians securing a 5-2 victory at Stade Francis Le Blé.
Once criticized for his erratic finishing, Ousmane Dembélé has reinvented himself as a prolific goal scorer in 2025. Since the start of the year, the former Barcelona winger has found the net 11 times in just six matches—more than anyone else in Europe so far.
A player who had only recorded one career hat trick until last week has delivered two in four days. His first goal came in the 29th minute, capitalizing on a surging run and pinpoint cross from Bradley Barcola. He then doubled his tally in the 56th minute, pouncing on a Fabian Ruiz shot that deflected off Marco Bizot.
But his third was the standout moment, expertly finishing off a brilliant assist from Kang-in Lee in the 62nd minute. With 14 goals, Dembélé now leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

After his three-goal performance against Brest on Saturday, Dembélé is the first French player to score back-to-back hat-tricks for a top-five European club since Karim Benzema did it with Real Madrid in April 2023.
Following the PSG win, manager Luis Enrique spoke to BeIN Sports and praised his star attacker for the recent form the Frenchman finds himself in.
“Ousmane Dembélé could probably win a Loto Foot jackpot—he’d definitely get a prize (laughs),” Enrique said (h/t RMC Sport). “He has the potential to become whatever kind of player he wants because there’s no one quite like him. If he stays composed, he can score with his head or either foot.
“I’m sure the media wants to build him up as the next Maradona, but he’s a smart player. He knows how to take advantage of the opportunities his teammates create for him. We’re really happy with our attacking options.”
