Italy international Marco Palestra has not ruled out a move to Inter in the upcoming window, though he says his attention is on securing Cagliari’s Serie A survival.
According to Football Italia, the 21-year-old right-back is on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta and under contract until summer 2029. He has been among the standout breakthroughs of 2025-26, impressing for Cagliari and in his first few Italy appearances.
Interest has intensified in the second half of the season, particularly from league leaders Inter. Speaking at Coverciano on Monday, Palestra avoided specifics about his future and said it is pleasing to be linked with major clubs.
He added that his priority is Cagliari’s final five league matches as the club chase safety.
Palestra also reflected on Italy’s World Cup play-off final defeat away to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which cost the Azzurri a place at the final tournament for the third time in a row. He called it a heavy blow, noted the difficult days that followed, and said the squad must restart together and improve.
