Palmeiras face six injuries in a pivotal run before the World Cup pause, with Cerro Porteño at Allianz Parque then Flamengo at the Maracanã ahead.
According to Nosso Palestra, six players are sidelined, two added after the draw with Cruzeiro at Arena Crefisa Barueri.
Left-back Piquerez had ankle surgery. The club hope he can accelerate recovery to play before the World Cup, and he has begun field work.
Vitor Roque also had surgery after a heavy ankle blow against São Paulo. He still scored the title-winning goal and is forecast to return only after the World Cup.
Bruno Fuchs sustained a thigh injury after facing Remo in the Brasileiro. Benedetti sprained his ankle against Jacuipense at Estádio do Café, suffered ligament damage and will not need surgery.
The latest setbacks came against Cruzeiro. Ramón Sosa trapped his foot at Arena Barueri, sustaining an ankle ligament injury that needs no surgery. Recovery is about 24 days, and the club want the frequent Paraguay call-up ready for the World Cup.
Felipe Anderson, perhaps in his best spell since joining, impressed against Jacuipense then scored a goal against Cruzeiro. He felt his thigh during a counter-attack and has a low-grade muscle injury.
Paulinho is easing back after more than 300 days out, capped at around 20 minutes a game and alternating training with recovery. The view is he will be fully ready only after the World Cup.
Even with these issues, Palmeiras see Cerro Porteño and Flamengo as decisive before the international break.
