Palmeiras go top after round seven in Brasileirão 2026

Palmeiras moved top of the Brasileirão after beating Botafogo 2-1, as round seven concluded on Thursday night. According to Diario Do Peixe, the latest results reshaped the standings at both ends.
São Paulo slipped to second after a 1-0 defeat at Atlético-MG, both clubs on 16 points. Bahia sit third on 14 after a 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino. Flamengo are fourth with 13 following a 3-0 victory against Remo.
Santos lost 2-1 to Internacional at Vila Belmiro and dropped to 16th, the first spot outside the relegation zone, on six points. Despite that win, Internacional remain in the relegation zone on five.
Botafogo are 18th and have two games in hand. Cruzeiro, Santos’ next opponents, are second-bottom with three points, and Remo are last, also on three.
The round produced 23 goals across 10 matches, an average of 2.3 per game. Home sides recorded seven wins, visitors two, with one draw. Elsewhere, Athletico-PR beat Cruzeiro 2-1, Coritiba won 1-0 at Mirassol, Vasco edged Fluminense 3-2, Grêmio defeated Vitória 2-0 and Chapecoense drew 0-0 with Corinthians.
