The Palmeiras team trained on Tuesday afternoon (30), at the Football Academy, and continued preparations for the match against Vasco, this Wednesday (01), at 7pm (Brasília time), at Allianz Parque, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The squad worked on collective tactical dynamics, practiced set pieces, and participated in a recreational activity. Left-back Piquerez, who was substituted against Bahia due to a trauma to his right knee, normally participated in the field training. Meanwhile, midfielder Lucas Evangelista, also substituted in the last round, underwent additional tests that confirmed a tendon injury in his right thigh and will undergo surgery.

A probable Palmeiras to face Vasco has: Weverton; Giay, Murilo, Gustavo Gómez and Piquerez; Anibal Moreno, Andreas, Maurício (Raphael Veiga) and Felipe Anderson; Flaco López and Vitor Roque.

The author of the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Vasco in the first round, in Brasília (DF), striker Vitor Roque commented on the expectations for the match.

“We know it will be a very difficult game against Vasco, it's a team that is also on a very good rise with (coach Fernando) Diniz. We worked with a lot of humility in this short time we had and we will count on the support of our fans as well, which will be very important,” he said.

“As professor Abel says, after the games there are 24 hours to celebrate or lament. The game against Bahia is over and now it's time to think about the next one. Since yesterday we are focusing on Vasco because it will be a very important game for us,” added the number 9.

In great form, Vitor has scored 12 goals and provided four assists for Verdão since he joined the club in March this year. And his characteristic 'tigrinho' celebration has become a trend among children – a fact celebrated by him.

“I'm very happy with the affection from the fans, especially the children. Sometimes, I can't believe it, it's very gratifying, it's a pride. I even changed my profile picture, I put myself in the last game with three little kids doing the 'tigrinho'. I'm very happy, I hope I can score many more goals and leave my mark even more,” he said.
