Palmeiras underwent a major overhaul across 2025, with further exits in 2026 leaving only a handful from recent triumphs.

UOL reports talks are advanced for an América-MEX loan to the end of 2026, with a purchase option, which would end Raphael Veiga’s eight-season, 11-trophy stay.

From the November 2021 Libertadores final win over Flamengo, only Gustavo Gómez and Piquerez remain. Marcelo Lomba, Murilo and Flaco Lopez are the only other current title winners, all arriving in 2022.

Gómez has 12 titles, Piquerez eight, while several team-mates still await a first trophy.

January saw Weverton, also on 12 trophies, depart for Grêmio. Right-backs Mayke and Marcos Rocha left in August 2025, and Zé Rafael has also moved on.

Veiga has indicated he would accept the move if the clubs agree, and would not force an exit if they do not. Abel Ferreira does not want to lose a leader and believes a major replacement would be required.

Next up are Botafogo-SP away in the Paulistão on 01/02 at 20:30 Brasília time, then Vitória at home in the Brasileirão on 04/02 at 21:30 Brasília time.
