They will be assessed on their return. The club intend to decide on Thursday morning, during a lighter final session, who can start.

On previous occasions, when a match followed the next night after the final Fifa game, Palmeiras chartered flights to hasten returns, as in October last year, when Flaco López debuted for Argentina and scored in São Paulo against Bragantino less than 24 hours later.

This time the gap is longer, with the last Fifa fixtures on Tuesday, 31 March, and Palmeiras hosting Grêmio at 21:30 on Thursday, 2 April, in the Brasileiro at Arena Crefisa Barueri.

Vitor Roque followed a specific programme to be fully ready after the window, working indoors and on the pitch. The rest did physical work then a game of two 25-minute halves with participation of Crias da Academia from the support group.

Defender Murilo, celebrating his birthday alongside Marlon Freitas, said staff keep sessions intense despite the break. After a few days off, he added, work has focused on strength, quality and demands to deliver the competitiveness, commitment and dedication Abel asks for.
