Abel Ferreira’s side then head to Salvador to meet Bahia on Sunday at Arena Fonte Nova in the league, one of their longest domestic trips alongside a later visit to Vitória in the same city.

After that match they travel to Colombia to open their Libertadores campaign against Junior Barranquilla on Wednesday at 21:30 Brasília time.

The tie was initially set for Estadio Metropolitano in Barranquilla, but expansion works for the Copa Sudamericana final mean it is expected to move to Estadio Jaime Morón León in Cartagena, which holds about 17,000.

Switching cities does not ease the load, the journey to Colombia will exceed 5,000 kilometres.

Back in São Paulo, their next date at Allianz Parque is scheduled for Thursday, 16 April, against Sporting Cristal in the Libertadores second round.
