Palmeiras thrashed Vitória 5-1 at Arena Barueri in the Campeonato Brasileiro on Wednesday 4 February, yet still posted a matchday deficit of R$ 110,710.74.

According to Nosso Palestra, the fixture generated revenue of R$ 263,547.00 with 8,953 attending, but operating costs surpassed income, leaving the negative balance.

It was only the sixth time in 55 fixtures outside Allianz Parque that Palmeiras finished with a negative gate.

Earlier in 2026, a win over Mirassol in the 2026 Campeonato Paulista also produced a loss of R$ 9,073.77, despite revenue of R$ 459,197.00 and a crowd of 12,654.

Before those two cases, the club’s last negative matchday came in the 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro, a 1-0 victory over Ceará that resulted in a loss of R$ 80,918.83.

At that point, Palmeiras were fresh from their Libertadores title and chose to field the under-20 side in the final rounds, with an alternate coaching staff. The winner was scored by Kevin, who now plays for Fulham in England.
