Palmeiras returned to work on Friday morning after a 2-1 loss to Vasco at São Januário, with Maurício back on the pitch and Piquerez training with the squad, boosting hopes they could face Mirassol on Sunday.

According to Globo.com, Maurício had missed the trip to Rio de Janeiro after a cut to his foot in the second leg of the Paulistão final against Novorizontino following a challenge with Rômulo, and had been training separately since.

Vitor Roque and Murilo, also absent in São Januário, underwent specific treatment indoors. The forward has been managing fatigue since the São Paulo semi-final, while the defender is dealing with a sprain to his left knee.

Paulinho continues his recovery, taking part in separate small-sided drills alongside Palmeiras youngsters, with an April return anticipated. Piquerez, rested last time for load management, trained normally and has every chance to be available to Abel Ferreira this weekend.

Players who featured for more than 45 minutes against Vasco did recovery work on Friday, while the rest focused on passing, circulation and final-third scenarios. There is one more session before Mirassol on Sunday, with kick-off at 18:30 and the game set to debut Allianz Parque’s new synthetic pitch.

A probable XI: Carlos Miguel, Khellven (Giay), Gustavo Gómez, Bruno Fuchs, Piquerez, Marlon Freitas, Andreas Pereira, Mauricio (Allan), Arias, Flaco López, Sosa (Vitor Roque).
