On January 29, Roma will conclude their Europa League Phase by flying to Athens to face Panathinaikos, led by Rafael Benitez, former Napoli coach.
The match against the Greeks could be decisive, as it could allow the Trigoria club to qualify directly for the round of 16.
For that to happen, Gasperini’s men will need to finish among the top eight teams and will likely need at least four points from their next two matches against Stuttgart and, of course, Panathinaikos.
The Greek coach spoke to La Repubblica about the match that awaits them at the end of the month: “What kind of challenge will it be? Very difficult.”
“Roma are doing very well and we are in a transition phase, but Panathinaikos will be ready to compete.”
