Paola Garcia has now gone seven matches without getting on the pitch for Corinthians, remaining unused in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Vitória at Fazendinha in the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino.
Her last appearance was on 14 May, a 6-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista, when she replaced Gi Fernandes after 18 minutes of the second half. Since then she has been on the bench against Santos, Palmeiras and Ferroviária in the Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, was cut versus Mixto, and not named to face Cruzeiro. According to Meu Timao, she was among five signings for 2026, joining at the request of then coach Lucas Piccinato.
Under Piccinato she featured only once, the Brasileirão opener against Atlético-MG. He was dismissed after the following match, a 2-2 draw with Fluminense.
Since Emily Lima took over, she has played in only seven of 19 matches, six in the coach’s first 10. In that span she was also on the bench seven times and left out entirely five times.
Garcia is competing for minutes with Duda Sampaio, Ana Vitória, Gabi Zanotti, Andressa Alves and Vic Albuquerque, who are most frequently used by Emily, as well as Day Rodríguez, Juliana Passari and Letícia Monteiro.
Corinthians’ next assignment is on Wednesday, a derby at Arena Barueri in the fifth round of the Paulistao Feminino, kick-off 19:00.
