Pape Gueye could become Manchester United FC’s answer to filling the void left by Casemiro’s departure this summer.

The Brazilian has confirmed he will leave the club when his contract expires in June, forcing United to hunt for a new midfielder. Gueye, who currently plays for Villarreal CF, is seen as a more affordable and experienced option. The Senegalese international is having a solid season with Villarreal (3 goals and 1 assist in 28 matches). He also netted the decisive goal in the Africa Cup of Nations final, clinching the title for his country against Morocco.

His coach, Marcelino García Toral, acknowledges that the player is a key asset for the team, but admits a move is possible if Gueye wants a change of club. Under contract until 2028, the midfielder will require negotiations if Manchester United are to secure his signature. The post-Casemiro era is already taking shape for the Red Devils.
