Paquetá diagnosed with thigh oedema, Flamengo expect about 10 days out

Flamengo said in a statement that Lucas Paquetá has oedema in the tendon of his left thigh, with no knee damage, following tests on Sunday night.

He left the Maracanã after the 2-0 win over Bahia complaining of knee pain and underwent scans later that evening.

Given the diagnosis, he is expected to be sidelined for about a week to 10 days, missing Wednesday's Copa do Brasil tie against Vitória and the Brasileirão meeting with Atlético-MG.

The coaching staff plan to have him available for Estudiantes on 29 April in the Libertadores or, at the latest, for the derby with Vasco on the third of May.

Flamengo are on five consecutive wins this season and sit second in the league on 23 points, six behind leaders Palmeiras, who have played a game more.
