According to Sunderland Echo, Paris FC lodged a £21.8m offer for Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor. The deal is described as unlikely, with head coach Stéphane Gilli reluctant to spend so heavily, while West Brom have signed goalkeeper Max O’Leary.

It has been claimed Paris FC went as far as submitting the bid, and that Gilli was not convinced about recruiting such an expensive striker. The report also said the Ligue 1 club are now targeting Stade de Reims forward Patrick Zabi for around £17.4m.

Any West Brom move for Anthony Patterson appears improbable after the Baggies completed a six-month agreement for O’Leary on Thursday. The 29-year-old has played only five Championship matches this season after ankle surgery, and later lost his place to Manchester United loanee Radek Vitek.

Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris has said Patterson could leave this month only if he is replaced first. He highlighted competition for places, noting that Robin Roefs currently has the shirt and that frustration is normal for those not playing.

With the deadline on two February, any departure for Patterson would depend on Sunderland securing another goalkeeper.
