Real Madrid intend to make numerous signings in the summer, but they could also allow important players to leave. Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rudiger have both been linked with moves away from the Bernabeu, and another that could be on the way out is Eduardo Camavinga.
It has been a difficult season for Camavinga, who has struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter at times. The emergence of Thiago Pitarch places more doubts about his place in Alvaro Arbeloa’s plans, which has led Real Madrid to take the decision to consider offers for his services.
If he were to leave, the Premier League has seemed like the most plausible destination, with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea keen on his signature. However, there is now a chance Camavinga returns to France, with Diario AS reporting that Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race.
The reigning European champions are keen to strengthen their options in the middle of the park – and perhaps protect against a possible move by Real Madrid for star midfielder Vitinha – and Camavinga is seen as an ideal option. The reported €50m asking price would be of no concern to them, and they would be able to match the Premier League in terms of a financial package offered to the player himself.
The recent speculation regarding Camavinga’s future is not a coincidence. He is currently facing his most difficult situation at Real Madrid since his 2021 move from Rennes, and there is a considerable chance that he ends up leaving the Bernabeu in the summer.
He will make the final decision on the future, and while his preference will be to remain at Real Madrid, there is a strong chance that he looks for a way out if it becomes clear that he will not be a regular starter going forward.
