Mateo Pellegrino’s reputation as a Serie A goalscorer has only increased in the last season and a half and he appears to be edging close to a Parma exit, with Crystal Palace competing with Juventus.
Juventus have emerged as a major candidate for the Argentine’s signature but their task is unlikely to be easy.
Gianluigi Longari has reported about the 24-year-old, confirming that Juve are prepared to go full-throttle in their move. They are under direct contact with Parma to potentially iron out an agreement, with Dusan Vlahovic having departed the club at the end of last month.
The main factor of the deal is the sell-on percentage that Velez have in his current deal but now, even Crystal Palace have come forward for Pellegrino’s signature.
The striker’s priority is Juve, even if the Eagles have a clear interest in him and are also offering Europa League football next season.
Luciano Spalletti appears unconvinced by both Lois Openda and Jonathan David and that is why he wants Pellegrino. He is going to be the first-choice in Turin and that may not be the case at Crystal Palace, especially considering the presences of Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jorgen Strand Larsen.
