The Congolese attacking midfielder begins the final chapter of his career in the Gulf
Paul José Mpoku - Al Batin FC
Paul José Mpoku has officially joined Al Batin FC, a club in the Saudi second division, on September 10, 2025. The Congolese player announced his transfer on his social media, specifying that this move represents his ultimate professional challenge.
Paul José Mpoku has chosen Saudi Arabia to conclude a career full of international experiences. At 33, the former Standard Liège captain has signed with Al Batin FC, where he becomes one of the squad's few foreign players. The club announced his arrival through posts on its digital platforms and confirmed the attacking midfielder's integration into their sporting project.
A free agent since the start of the summer, Mpoku weighed several options before committing to Al Batin. His career has taken him to eight different countries, with spells in Belgium, England, Italy, Greece, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and Romania. This move to Saudi Arabia marks his tenth professional club and, in his own words, his "last trip."
