The Premier League confirmed Paul Tierney will referee Manchester United v Leeds at Old Trafford on Monday.
Leeds arrive after a Wembley-sealing FA Cup quarter-final shootout win at West Ham. Daniel Farke's side have not won a league game for two months.
Hosts Manchester United are chasing Champions League qualification, having improved under Michael Carrick since he replaced Ruben Amorim.
Tierney will be assisted by Richard West and Scott Ledger, with Adam Herczeg fourth official and John Brooks on VAR. He has refereed seven Premier League matches this season, averaging 17.43 fouls and 3.43 yellow cards per game.
This will be his first top-flight assignment this season involving either club. The 45-year-old also oversaw Leeds' FA Cup fourth-round penalty win at Birmingham City at St Andrew's.
Tierney was VAR when Stuart Attwell handled last month's 1-0 home defeat by Sunderland, in which Leeds were denied a clear first-half penalty. Luke O'Nien grabbed Pascal Struijk around the neck, Attwell waved play on and no review was recommended.
That call was later ruled incorrect, with O'Nien judged not to be looking at the ball and to have used a non-footballing hold that impeded Struijk. In the next league game at Crystal Palace, Gabriel Gudmundsson's second yellow was also later deemed wrong after referee Thomas Bramall consulted fourth official Tierney.
