On the evening of last Tuesday (13), right-back Pedro Milans arrived in Brazil to undergo medical examinations and finalize the agreement with Corinthians. He joins on a free transfer with a three-year contract after ending his tenure with Peñarol, Uruguay.

The young Uruguayan, 23, arrives to compete for a position with Matheuzinho, who spent almost the entire 2025 season without an official substitute. Central do Timão provides an analysis of how Pedro Milans plays and what he can bring to Dorival Júnior's team.

Characteristics

Pedro Milans is a right-back with well-defined characteristics and joins Corinthians with a profile of strength and intensity on the flanks. The 23-year-old Uruguayan frequently attacks the half-space and is known for his ability to make inside-breaking runs, as well as constant overlaps down the wing, repeatedly reaching the byline.

Physically, Milans stands out for his power and presence in duels, despite not being very tall — he is 1.71m. Nonetheless, he has good jumping ability and often has the upper hand in aerial battles, boasting better numbers than other full-backs in the Corinthians squad. Offensively, he frequently enters the opponent's area, usually from the opposite side of the play or attacking the half-space, which broadens his options for participating in the attack.

Another notable aspect of his game is his ability to execute actions with his non-dominant foot. Milans uses his left leg naturally for crosses and shots, a recurring pattern in his matches. The full-back also tends to attempt shots from medium and long distances, although he still shows low accuracy in this type of shot, indicating room for improvement in the final third.

Defensively, Pedro Milans has shown improvement since his debut in professional football. Pedro Milans accumulated consistent numbers in the 2024 and 2025 editions of the Libertadores, establishing himself as an important piece for Peñarol in the continental competition. In total, the right-back played 16 matches, starting 15 of them, totaling 1,267 minutes on the field — an average of 79.2 minutes per game, highlighting his regularity and the trust placed in him by the coaching staff.

With the ball, Milans had an active participation throughout the tournament. There were 700 offensive actions, averaging 43.8 per match, in addition to 248 accurate passes, with a 76% success rate and an average of 15.5 precise passes per game. The Uruguayan also directly contributed to the attack with one assist, against Rosario Central, and created eight scoring opportunities for teammates, registering an average of 0.5 key passes per match.

In a more vertical game, the full-back also attempted long passes, successfully completing 17 of them, with a 35% success rate and an average of 1.07 per game. Although not his main characteristic, this data reinforces his involvement in building and changing the rhythm of offensive plays.

Defensively, the numbers are noteworthy for their consistency. Milans recovered 44 balls throughout the competition (2.75 per game), made 37 successful tackles (2.31 per match), and recorded 20 interceptions, averaging 1.25 per encounter. Combining all ball disputes, Milans won 79 confrontations, with a 54% success rate and an average of 4.94 per game.

Another relevant point is the defensive security demonstrated throughout the Libertadores. The full-back suffered only 16 dribbles — an average of one per match — and did not commit any defensive errors that resulted in an opponent's shot or goal. In terms of discipline, he committed 11 fouls (0.69 per game), suffered 22 infractions (1.38 per match), and received only one yellow card in the entire competition.

Trajectory

Pedro Milans began his professional football career at Juventud, Uruguay, the club where he was developed and played between the 2019 and 2022 seasons. For the team, the right-back accumulated 60 matches, contributing three goals and six assists, numbers that marked his development and consolidation in the national scene.

In 2022, Milans was signed by Peñarol, where he remained until 2025 and took a leap in his career. For the traditional Uruguayan club, the player totaled 112 official games, maintaining his offensive production with three goals and eight assists, in addition to establishing himself as a regular starter from 2023, especially in national and international competitions.

During his time at Peñarol, Pedro Milans also accumulated significant achievements. The full-back was part of the squad that won the Uruguayan Championship in the 2023/24 season and the Uruguayan Cup in 2024/25, titles that reinforce his experience in decisive and highly competitive contexts.
