It’s just come out that Chelsea are still expected to sell a player they have just recalled on loan to play an important role, in the summer.
I think this whole story is a complete embarrassment.
Chelsea literally froze Trevoh Chalobah out of the squad in pre-season, didn’t let him go on the club’s tour, and didn’t even give him a squad number. They basically treated an academy graduate like absolute dirt because they wanted to sell him.
It then transpired that they could not sell him and all they could do was loan him out to Crystal Palace, where he has done very well.
But now, it’s just been reported that Chelsea have decided to recall Chalobah from his season-long loan move at Palace, in order to help them cover the centre back area for the rest of the season.

David Ornstein of The Athletic has just reported that Chalobah is coming back to play ‘an important role’ at Chelsea for this next half of the season, which makes you believe that he might actually still have a future at the club now.
But no wait, Matt Law of The Telegraph has just reported that Chelsea are still expected to sell Chalobah at the end of the season. What on earth!? Where is the future squad building there? Have a player back just for a bit to then sell him? It’s ludicrous. This lot have no idea what they are doing here, it’s embarrassing.
I have no idea why Chalobah has agreed to come back, or even if he had a choice to, but he should have ran miles away from this club after the way they treated him and then come begging for him to come back. Shambolic.
