Lazio fell 1-0 to Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi, Robin Gosens settling it with a header midway through the first half. According to The Laziali, Maurizio Sarri’s numerous changes did not pay off. It was their first defeat in five outings.
Earlier, Mattia Zaccagni curled an effort in the second minute, David De Gea saved.
Edoardo Motta rated 6, unable to reach Gosens’ header but otherwise alert. Manuel Lazzari, 5.5, carried well yet lost the key aerial. Alessio Romagnoli impressed at 6.5, Oliver Provstgaard a steady 6.
Nuno Tavares, 5.5, did not stop Jack Harrison’s cross for the winner and his raids lacked end product. Toma Basic, 5.5, lasted 45 minutes on a two-month hiatus return and struggled with Che Ndour’s pace. Patric’s work-rate earned a 6, while Kenneth Taylor, 5.5, was subdued.
Matteo Cancellieri, 5, wasted a rare start, missing from close range and losing Gosens’ run before later halting Ndour with a sliding tackle. Boulaye Dia, 5.5, began brightly with flicks and a set-up for Zaccagni, then faded with mistimed runs. Zaccagni, 6, was replaced at half-time by Tijjani Noslin.
From the bench, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, 5.5, had limited influence. Noslin, 6, tried to win a cheeky spot-kick, VAR intervened, but Michael Fabbri did not award it.
Pedro, 5.5, lunged at Roberto Piccoli late on, escaped with a booking, and had a long-range effort saved by De Gea. Gustav Isaksen, 6.5, added energy and quality crosses from the right. Petar Ratkov was not graded.
