Lazio were forced to settle for a single point at home as they couldn’t find a way past Cremonese who were firm and organized at the back.
The Biancocelesti had to do without eight players, including regular starters like Mattia Zaccagni and Toma Basic, while those who played in their stead weren’t able to properly plug the gap. So here are our player ratings for Lazio, who were mostly underwhelming in their goalless draw at home against Cremonese.
Ivan Provedel – 6
The goalkeeper’s ninth clean sheet of the season was arguably his easiest, as his services were seldom required.
Adam Marusic – 6.5
Aside from an intercepted pass in the first half, it was a decent display from the Montenegrin at both ends of the pitch. Started a promising counter-attack in the first half, picked up Noslin with good cross from the right, and tested Emil Audero with a low shot.
Mario Gila – 6
The Spaniard held his own against Jamie Vardy, although he committed a professional foul on the Englishman late in the match.
Alessio Romagnoli – 6
The Italian defender was given a few scares by Federico Bonazzoli, but it was a solid outing overall.
Luca Pellegrini – 6
A solid if not spectacular display from the left-back, but he should have been more aware of the offside trap, as he almost allowed Vardy to score from a free header.
Matteo Guendouzi – 6
It was a listless display from the Frenchman who gifted the ball to Cremonese on several occasions and picked up a needless yellow that earned him a ban against Udinese, but he instigated two late chances out of nothing from tenacious runs.
Danilo Cataldi – 6.5
The stand-in captain as arguably Lazio’s best performer, as he managed to shield the backline and kept things running in midfield, despite the rigid nature of the contest.
Matias Vecino – 5
The Uruguayan hardly made himself noticed during the hour he spent on the pitch. Offered little to nothing when going forward.
Matteo Cancellieri – 5.5
The Italian winger may have been the best of a disappointing attacking trident, but it wasn’t exactly a positive display. He had two promising chances, but he was unfortunate to lose his footing on the first occasion, and was cynically brought down by Federico Ceccherini on the second.
Taty Castellanos – 5
The Argentine’s teammates didn’t help his case by sending long balls his way, even though he had no chance in the aerial duels against the massive Federico Baschirotto. However, the Lazio striker should have done better than sending a promising header straight towards Audero.
Pedro – 5
Whether it was rust or Father Time, the 38-year-old looked out of sorts, struggling in his duel against Tommaso Barbieri. Sarri is right to ask the club to sign a new left winger.
Reda Belahyane – 5.5
A tepid cameo from the Moroccan who hasn’t been used in a while. He could start in Udine due to Guendouzi’s suspension.
Tijjani Noslin – 5.5
The Dutchman couldn’t quite replicate last weekend’s heroics, but he’d argue he should won Lazio a spot-kick.
Manuel Lazzari – N/A
