According to reports, Mustapha Bundu's agent has revealed the winger will leave Plymouth Argyle this summer.
Latest reports have suggested that Plymouth Argyle's Mustapha Bundu will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
That's according to Chris Errington of Plymouth Live, who reported on Thursday morning that the 10-goal attacker is set to turn down a new contract at Home Park in favour of a move elsewhere.
Errington spoke to Bundu's agent, former Manchester United and Denmark international defender John Sivebaek, who revealed the 28-year-old's stance on his Argyle future.
The wide-man joined the Devon-based outfit from Belgian powerhouse Anderlecht on summer deadline day in 2023, penning a two-year contract.
With that deal coming to a close this summer, the Pilgrims offered the Sierra Leonean a new deal in a bid to keep him at the club heading into League One next season. But, it now seems that Bundu will become a free agent at the end of June, according to his agent.
The Pilgrims' relegation back to the third tier after two seasons in the Championship was officially confirmed on the final day of the season following defeat to Leeds United.
There was hope that key player Bundu would sign a new contract with the Devon club as they headed into League One, but reports on Thursday delivered the news all Greens feared, and probably expected.
In an interview with Plymouth Live, the winger's agent, Sivebaek, revealed that his client won't be extending his stay on the South Coast beyond the summer.
"Mustapha has been very happy to be at Plymouth and to play for them. Unfortunately, they went down and he has some ambitions. He's not really keen on playing in League One, he wants to try something else. That's the fact and I informed Plymouth about that," he said.
"It's nothing to do with Plymouth. He has been very happy there. The problem is they went down to League One and his ambition is bigger than that. I hope everybody can understand that.
"There is possibilities in England, also possibilities in Germany, so it's up to him to decide where he wants to continue his career. It's very difficult at the moment to say anything about that. We are talking to a lot of clubs. Where it will end, I honestly don't know."
Following a strong year in the Championship where Bundu was the shining light of Plymouth's disappointing season, it's unsurprising to hear that the former Anderlecht star has plenty of potential suitors.
The 28-year-old ended the season with 10 goals and six assists in 37 Championship appearances, which made him the club's joint-highest goalscorer in the league alongside Ryan Hardie.
There has already been interest displayed by other clubs in England, all of which you would assume are either playing in the Championship, given Bundu's desire to play at a higher level than League One.

Sivebaek also revealed that his client has got options to head abroad and play in Germany, but once again no specific clubs have been named as potential destinations for the winger.
