Paul Pogba believes Kobbie Mainoo is the type of player that ‘all the clubs’ will be after following his meteoric breakthrough.
The former Red was full of praise for Manchester United’s homegrown starlet when meeting with Rio Ferdinand recently.

When asked whether Mainoo should stay at Old Trafford long-term, Pogba told Ferdinand: “He’s such a talented kid. He’s still young. It’s really difficult. He’s going to have all the clubs after him, this is for sure. He’s such a great player, big potential, and he can have a great career at Manchester United, too.
“So I don’t know, but I just wish him the best. I don’t know what decision he’s going to make. I just want to see this kid play because it’s enjoyable to see him play football.”

His comments come just a day after it was revealed that Mainoo and United had finally reached a verbal agreement over a new contract, one that will keep him tied to the club until 2031, plus the option of a further 12 months.
However, rewind only four months, and the 21-year-old was pushing for a move away due to his continued omissions under Ruben Amorim.
This season, Mainoo did not make a single Premier League start under Amorim before he was eventually relieved of his duties back in January, which had prompted him to explore alternative ventures.
United blocked a late-summer loan move for the midfielder back at the very beginning of the campaign, when he had been an unused substitute for the opening two league matches, and were prepared to rebuff his requests to leave again – until Michael Carrick was appointed and put matters right.
Carrick instantly restored Mainoo to his rightful place in the starting XI alongside Casemiro, and he has since started every fixture he’s been available for; he missed out against Leeds United through a minor injury setback.
On Tuesday, it was also revealed that Chelsea had begun plotting a shock pursuit of Mainoo amid his game-time struggles this term.

Manchester Evening News’ Steven Railston revealed that the London outfit had set their sights on the England international, and would’ve attempted to facilitate a deal had an opportunity presented itself.
