A few weeks after the towel controversy in the 2025 AFCON final, another scandal erupted on Monday night in Portugal. This time it was during the clash between FC Porto and Sporting. The latter club has now officially announced its intention to file a complaint.

On Monday night, the showdown between FC Porto and Sporting CP (1-1) at the Estádio do Dragão produced a scenario as spectacular as it was controversial. The match was marred by a series of off-the-pitch incidents, plunging the encounter into a highly charged atmosphere.
The day after this heated contest, Sporting CP announced its intention to bring the matter before the disciplinary council of the Portuguese Football Federation against FC Porto. The club delivered this message through an official statement.
