But Postecoglou admitted that he is continuing to exercise caution over Son’s fitness and is “unlikely” to be risked at Selhurst Park.

“Sonny still not right or feeling 100 per cent,” admitted Postecoglou.

“He won’t train today and unlikely for the weekend.”

Postecoglou also pinpointed the differences in his side now compared to the opening months of his debut campaign in charge.

“I think we’re more consistent in our football, more consistent in performances,” he added.

“Results last year were great and playing on a lot on enthusiasm and energy we had.

“But I knew that wasn’t sustainable and pretty quickly we found that out.”

Spurs could potentially move up to fifth in the Premier League table with a win over their London counterparts.
