There’s a shake up in this week’s Power Rankings after a massive week of European football.

10. Como 🆕 (Last week: N/A)

Como have claimed a Champions League place in Serie A after a quiet run of outstanding form. Cesc Fabregas’s side are unbeaten in their last six across all competitions, despite a run that has included clashes against Juventus, Roma, and both Milan clubs.

Last weekend, Como claimed the scalp of top-four rivals Roma to put their Champions League ambitions in their own hands.

9. Manchester United 🆕 (Last week: N/A)

Michael Carrick has certainly put his hand up for the permanent gig at Old Trafford. The caretaker coach has won seven of his nine games, which includes victories over each of the other three sides in the Premier League’s top four. A 3-1 win over Aston Villa saw the Red Devils take a giant step towards Champions League football.

8. Sporting Lisbon 🆕 (Last week: N/A)

Sporting surge back into the Power Rankings after a historic week. The Portuguese champions became only the fifth team in Champions League history to overturn a three-goal first-leg defeat and progress, blitzing Bodo/Glimt 5-0 after extra-time. A place in the quarter-finals for the first time since 1983 is theirs.

7. RC Lens  (Last week: 6th)

Lens blew the chance to put the pressure on PSG at the weekend, losing at Lorient. With PSG not in action, it was a chance missed to overtake the leaders in what has been a valiant effort to keep pace with the Parisians. The momentum is back with PSG.

6. Man City (Last week: 5th)

The week when Manchester City’s chase for the big trophies ended? A damaging draw at West Ham saw the Citizens lose more ground on Arsenal in the title race, before their European elimination was confirmed after defeat to Real Madrid. It was just the third time that Pep Guardiola has lost both legs of a Champions League tie.

5. Paris Saint-GermainÂ âŹ†ïž (Last week: 7th)

Paris Saint-Germain requested to postpone their weekend fixture in order to be at full throttle to face Chelsea in midweek. After winning the first leg 5-2, PSG did not ease up in the return to claim a 3-0 success at Stamford Bridge and ease into the last eight.

It’s Liverpool up next.

4. Real Madrid ↔ (Last week: 4th)

After cruising past Elche at the weekend with a little help from Arda Guler’s own-half effort, the Spanish giants won at Manchester City to book their place in the quarter-finals.

Real Madrid just know how to get it done in Europe, with an efficient performance at the Etihad ensuring progress.

3. Barcelona ↔ (Last week: 3rd)

A whopping 12 goals scored for Barcelona over the past week, as the Catalans followed a La Liga thumping of Sevilla by trouncing Newcastle at Camp Nou.

Barcelona scored seven in a destructive performance, as Newcastle became only the second English team to concede 6+ goals in a Champions League game. A statement made by the Spanish champions.

2. Arsenal ↔ (Last week: 2nd)

Arsenal are edging closer to the Premier League title with their lead now nine points. Two late goals, including a record-breaking effort from 16-year-old Max Dowman, saw Arsenal past Everton at the weekend, before the Gunners beat Bayer Leverkusen to progress in Europe.

The quadruple remains a possibility, ahead of this weekend’s Carabao Cup final.

1. Bayern Munich ↔ (Last week: 1st)

If any team is going to stop Arsenal’s quadruple chase, it’s likely to be Bayern Munich. The German champions are steamrolling teams at the moment and secured one of the biggest aggregate wins in Champions League history this week.

Already 6-1 up on aggregate, the Bavarians beat Atalanta 4-1 in the return.
