Alexander Prass scored a first-half brace to lead Hoffenheim to a 4-2 victory away in Heidenheim. The Austrian previously had a single goal since joining the club at the start of last season.
Fisnik Asllani provided the assist for the opening goal before joining the scoresheet himself early in the second-half. The hosts showed life after the break with a brace from Luca Kerber, but Tim Lemperle sealed the win with Hoffenheim’s fourth before Heidenheim got their second.
In only his second substitute appearance after recovering from an injury, Lemperle scored a minute after his introduction. With both Stuttgart and Leverkusen dropping points, it was a perfect matchday for Hoffenheim’s Champions League dream following disappointing results against Köln and St. Pauli.
Hoffenheim will face another struggling side Wolfsburg next week, while Heidenheim travel to Frankfurt to face Albert Riera’s in-form team. Frank Schmidt’s side only have 14 points after 25 rounds.
