Looking at this Newcastle team v Wolves.

Only five days away now, from proper football returning after this tedious first international break.

Newcastle United having started the season with very good performances against Villa and Liverpool that deserved more than the solitary point gained out of six.

Then for the away match at Leeds just before the internationals, Eddie Howe heavily impacted by players unavailable, or not signed by that point.

The NUFC Head Coach went for a change of personnel and formation in that match at Elland Road, with no senior striker available and other constraints.

As a reminder, this was the Newcastle team v Leeds:

Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Livramento, Tonali, Bruno, Ramsey, Jacob Murphy, Osula

I see plenty of changes on Saturday.

Hopefully, Eddie Howe with pretty much a full squad to choose from, with the exception of the suspended Anthony Gordon.

Pope, Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall, Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton, Barnes, Wissa, Elanga

IN:

Hall, Joelinton, Barnes, Wissa, Elanga

Trippier, Botman, Ramsey, Jacob Murphy, Osula

So if I am proved correct, that would be five changes to the starting eleven at Elland Road.

I think for sure that it will be a return to a back four. Sven Botman was decent at Leeds but I think for the time being at least, Schar and Burn are Eddie Howe’s first choice duo.

Whilst at full-back, Kieran Trippier has done well in the opening matches but I fancy Saturday will see a return of Lewis Hall to the left and Tino switching back to his favoured right side. I think some fans have forgotten just how good Lewis Hall was last season and now he should be back to full match fitness and raring to go.

Eddie Howe said before the Leeds match that he hoped/expected Joelinton would return after the international break. It appears he didn’t travel with Bruno to the Brazil squad, even though no official confirmation of that. Staying at home to get ready for this Wolves games will hopefully pay dividends with Joelinton. I expect him to be back in alongside Tonali and Bruno.

Barnes and Elanga were kept as impact subs for that Leeds match but I think both of them back in for this one.

Whilst completing the Newcastle team v Wolves, Yoane Wissa to start through the middle.

He looked sharp for DR Congo on Friday with a goal and an assist, benefiting from keeping fit due to group training with Brentford.
