Very rarely does a weekend of Premier League action play a supporting role, but Sunday's Carabao Cup final looks set to steal the limelight.

Liverpool take on Newcastle United under the arch on Sunday in a bid to claim the season's first piece of silverware. Their involvement means there are just eight league games to enjoy over the next couple of days. Don't fear, there are tasty encounters aplenty.

Top half tussles are increasing in significance with each passing week as teams aim to position themselves for a late push for Europe. The top-four/five race remains the division's pressure point, and many will have an interest in Saturday's events at the Etihad.

Here's how 90min predicts Premier League Gameweek 29 to unfold.

There's no Saturday lunchtime kick-off to enjoy off the back of a continental slate, with four games succumbing to the 3pm blackout this weekend.

David Moyes will be desperate to get one over his former club as West Ham United visit Goodison Park. Everton's unbeaten Premier League run with Moyes at the helm extended to eight games last week at Wolves, but they have drawn each of their last three games. Still, the Toffees are well adrift of the drop zone and are bound to enjoy the final quarter of the season.

West Ham's momentum was tamed by Newcastle on Monday night, but they'll climb above their opponents with a win on Merseyside.

Nottingham Forest's 1-0 victory over Manchester City was seismic, offering Nuno Espirito Santo's side a bit of breathing room in third. However, they have struggled away from home as of late and Ipswich, despite their position and recent form, haven't yet thrown in the towel.

After their defeat at the City Ground last week, City require a bounce-back performance on Saturday. However, Pep Guardiola's side are facing the Premier League's form team in Brighton & Hove Albion. The Seagulls have won five on the bounce in all competitions and are well in the European hunt. The visitors have never won at City but they're well-equipped to do so here.

Wolves are gradually moving away from the drop zone, and many will regard them as good as safe should they win at Southampton and results go their way. The Saints are still searching for a couple of points to usurp 2007/08 Derby County.

The day's action concludes on the south coast as Bournemouth take on Brentford at the Vitality. The Bees have sparkled on their travels in 2025, while the Cherries have been one of the stories of the season. They should've won at Spurs last weekend, but their 2-2 draw means they're winless in three and now aiming to make up ground on those above them.

The hosts are ninth in the table, six points better off than their opponents.

There will be Premier League thrills to soak up on either side of the Carabao Cup final.

First, Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates and Fulham welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Craven Cottage in a pair of all-London affairs. The three named European participants were all content with their midweek work as each progressed into the quarter-finals of their respective competitions.

The Gunners aren't playing for all that much domestically having lost more ground on Liverpool last week, but they'll want to continue their excellent recent record against the Blues on Sunday.

Fulham were beaten at Brighton last time out and have lost ground in the battle for Europe, but they'll benefit from having a full week to prepare for Spurs' visit. The north Londoners had a wretched time at the Cottage last season.

Manchester United joined Spurs in the Europa League last eight on Thursday, and their upsurge will be expected to continue at Leicester. Ruben Amorim's side are unbeaten in five games across all competitions and their most recent 135 minutes of football must rank among the most impressive we've seen with the Portuguese manager at the helm.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is continuing to navigate a sinking ship at King Power, with his Leicester team losing their last five Premier League games while failing to score.
