Premier League rival backs £34m Leeds move for Tarik Muharemovic as Daniel Farke fit assessed | OneFootball

Leeds United’s £34million capture of Tarik Muharemovic has been endorsed by Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic, who believes the centre-back suits Daniel Farke’s demands. The 23-year-old joined from Sassuolo on a five-year deal last week to fill the gap left by outgoing Pascal Struijk.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international arrived for the club’s second-highest fee and will aim to translate his Serie A form to the Premier League. He is due to link up mid-way through the US tour after a post-World Cup break.

"He's a very good player. He had a very good season in Sassuolo. There was a lot of interest about him from a lot of big names. He's a left-footed centre-back, a national team player, and Bosnia has played a good World Cup," said Jakirovic, speaking to The Yorkshire Post.

"It will be a good profile for Leeds. He grew up in Austria so he speaks German and they [Leeds] have coaches from Germany. so I think he will adapt very well."

Muharemovic underlined his mentality on signing, saying: "As a player I will give everything for this club. I will give everything every game, I just want to win. I hate to lose and I will fight for every ball, even with it's my head or my feet, I'm going," speaking to LUTV.

He added that Leeds’ history and fervent support appealed to him and that he cannot wait to start the season. Hull host Leeds on December 30, with the return at Elland Road on March 3.
