The Juventus Women’s First Team made it two wins from three in the 2025/26UEFA Women’s Champions League, coming from behind to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in Spain.
Coach Massimiliano Canzi, Tatiana Pinto and Barbara Bonansea spoke to the press after the match.
"It's a very important result, especially considering our Champions League campaign and our performances in Europe so far. We've done well, and these results are an incentive and motivation to do even better. We knew it wouldn't be easy and we started off playing a bit within ourselves, but we defended very well right from the start. After falling behind, we improved the quality of our attacking play. Winning helps you win more, and I'm very happy for the girls. As always, the key to success is knowing how to protect your box and attack quickly. We prepared for the match in a certain way and managed to follow the plan, so I'm happy."
"Obviously, it was great to be back here, but I really wanted to win. I have lots of friends here, I know that Atletico Madrid is a great team and a great environment, but that's football. I'm part of Juventus now and I wanted to come back here and win. My role on the pitch is different, but the important thing for me is to help my team. I do whatever it takes to win and I'm happy with tonight's result. This result will boost our morale, we know that there are other very tough games ahead, but these three points give us the motivation we need to keep developing.”
"Atletico played a great game, but we stuck together as a team and fought until the end. We're really happy to have taken home the three points. We tried to play directly as much as possible, it wasn't an easy match to play. This victory is really important in our European campaign. I didn't see the ball coming for the goal because [Michela] Cambiaghi was in front of me, so as soon as it appeared in front of me, I tried to strike it as hard as possible and luckily it went in. I like the new Champions League format because it allows us to face six different teams and compete against more different sides."
