Coach Thiago Motta and Dusan Vlahovic spoke to the press after Juventus’ 1-1 draw against Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Matchday four of the UEFA Champions League, league phase.
“We wanted another result, but I am happy with our performance: we can still improve some things, but overall I am satisfied. We could have done better in the final third, especially in the first half, while in the second half I saw more quality. We came up against a team that knows what they’re doing and are in good form, and the result was a good game. It was a very good performance from us; we knew that Lille would try and sit back and counter-attack, and breaking them down wasn't easy, but our approach was good and I liked that a lot. Now we think about our recovery and then the Derby, in which we want to play at our best. We are working to improve game after game, tonight I saw good signs on the pitch, I'm satisfied with how the boys are working.”
“I think we had the game under control on a difficult pitch against a team that plays very well. We were aggressive, we could have won it especially after we equalised. It's a pity we weren’t able to. [Lucas] Chevalier did very well in the first half by making an excellent save, he showed very quick reactions. We are a young team that has changed a lot, for many of us it is the first time playing in the Champions League. Today we could have picked up more points, but let's move forward.”
