Prestianni and Lukebakio taunt Sporting after Benfica 2-1 win, say Lisbon is red | OneFootball

Benfica players Gianluca Prestianni and Dodi Lukebakio used social media after the derby to taunt Sporting, pointing out what colour they believe Lisbon is.

According to Glorioso 1904, the pair posted on Instagram following Benfica’s 2-1 victory away to Sporting in the 30th round. The result moved Benfica into second, one point ahead of Sporting, who have a game in hand.

Prestianni stated that Lisbon is red. Lukebakio, the Belgium international, asked his followers what colour the city is, then supplied the answer, red.

Goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin, who saved a Luis Suárez penalty, highlighted the team’s character and said derbies are never easy. He stressed they would keep fighting to the end.

Fredrik Aursnes also reflected, praising the side’s sacrifice at Alvalade and noting that pushing for more than third place is not in Benfica’s hands.

Benfica host Moreirense next at Estádio da Luz on Saturday 25 April at 18h00, in the 31st round.
