Liverpool will welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Anfield tomorrow night as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in the French capital last week.
Should the Reds fail to advance to the next round, this will be Andy Robertson’s and Mohamed Salah’s final Champions League game in a Liverpool shirt, as both players are set to depart at the end of the season. Salah was an unused substitute in the first leg; his performance against Fulham on Saturday could very well have earned him a spot in Arne Slot’s starting side tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, PSG’s league game was postponed this weekend to allow them more recovery time between legs as they look to retain the UCL crown. Their goals came through Désiré Doué and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia last week, as Liverpool were brushed aside at the Parc Des Princes.
The Parisians are currently at the top of Ligue 1, four points ahead of Lens, but with a game in hand, which could see them extend that advantage and send them on their way to a sixth consecutive top-flight title. Liverpool, by contrast, have failed to defend their Premier League trophy this term, currently sitting fifth in the league and 18 points behind leaders Arsenal.
Liverpool were knocked out of this competition by PSG last season. The two sides met in the Round of 16, with Liverpool losing on penalties at Anfield when Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones from the spot. PSG went on to defeat Aston Villa, Arsenal and Inter Milan en route to lifting the trophy in Munich.
The game will take place at Anfield on Tuesday, April 14th, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm (UK time)
