Chelsea return to Champions League action with a visit to Azerbaijan to face Qarabağ.

The game comes on the back of a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. Domestically, Chelsea are seventh in the table despite being on level points with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

They also won their fourth-round clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup and will face a trip to south Wales to visit Cardiff City in the quarter-finals of that competition.

The Blues travel to the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium with the aim of winning three consecutive matches in this season’s Champions League and secure their first away win.

Despite an opening 3-1 loss Bayern Munich in their first group match, they have two home wins over Benfica and Ajax and are hoping to finish in the top eight.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Levi Colwill, Cole Palmer, Benoît Badiashile and Dário Essugo will not be travelling to Baku for the clash, while Pedro Neto is also unavailable.

Meanwhile, the hosts and 12-time champions of Azerbaijan are in impressive form heading into the match.

Qarabağ return to champions league action after stunning Benfica 3-2 in their opening match and beating Copenhagen 2-0 before losing their only match against Atletico Club with a 3-1 score-line.

They have won two of three home games in the Champions League so far and can be a difficult opponent to play at their home ground.

The Azerbaijani side have currently lost all seven matches against English sides in Europe, conceding 21 times; their only goal came from a penalty against Spurs in September 2015.

Gurban Gurbanov’s side have only faced Chelsea twice in the Champions League and have lost both matches.

Chelsea beat the hosts 6-0 at Stamford Bridge in September 2017 and then beat them 4-0 in the reverse fixture that November.

If they were to beat Chelsea, it would be the first time they have gained back-to-back wins in Europe and the first at home in the same season.

The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports in the UK with a kick-off time of 17:45 GMT .
