Inter announced on Wednesday evening that the 32-year-old goalkeeper had joined Cristian Chivu's side to replace the departing Yann Sommer. The reigning Italian champions reportedly paid €3 million, with his contract expiring in June 2027, and many viewed the fee as a bargain.
On Friday he addressed his former club and its fanbase on Instagram, offering gratitude to everyone who had supported him across four years and under different coaching staffs and administrations. The message stressed he had always given everything for the colours.
It acknowledged that their paths had now diverged, reserving special thanks for those who showed him what it means to be a Lazio supporter. He signed off with warm wishes to the club and its fans.
Provedel joined Lazio in summer 2022 after emerging at Spezia, quickly establishing himself as Maurizio Sarri’s first-choice. A dip in form cost him his place to Christos Mandas late in 2024/25, before he regained it when Sarri returned to replace Marco Baroni last summer.
In his debut season he equalled the Serie A record with 21 clean sheets. The following year he headed a last-gasp equaliser against Atletico Madrid in a Champions League group-stage match at the Stadio Olimpico.
