Real Madrid had a rough night against PSG on Wednesday. Despite the resounding victory, Parisian head coach Luis Enrique showed great class towards Xabi Alonso.

After PSG handed Real Madrid a 4-0 thrashing in the Club World Cup semi-final, Luis Enrique could have basked in the glory of a spectacular win. However, the Spanish coach made it a point to express his deep respect for his compatriot Xabi Alonso, who has just taken over on the Madrid bench.

"What made the difference was the scoreline, that's the most important thing. These are two very different projects. Ours in Paris is in its second season, while Xabi's has only just begun." Enrique said, sending a message of support to Xabi.

Luis Enrique was keen to remind everyone that Xabi Alonso deserves time. "He has shown his quality at every club he's been at. He needs a pre-season to implement his ideas. You shouldn't judge him too quickly, he hasn't even had a chance to really work yet. These are incomparable situations," the Parisian coach concluded.
