PSG to play Intercontinental Cup final in Qatar | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain will return to Qatar later this year, as confirmed in a statement by FIFA. It was announced on Sunday that the reigning UEFA Champions League winners would feature in the Asian country in order to dispute the Intercontinental Cup. The match will take place on December 17.

Who they will play for the title remains to be seen, with Les Parisiens already set to play the final against an opponent yet to be determined. They’ll have to wait to see what happens in the Copa Libertadores in South America. The winner of that tournament will face the CONCACAF Champions Cup winners from Mexico, Cruz Azul. The Egyptian side Pyramids FC won the African Champions Cup and will face the winner of the Libertadores Cup and the winner of Cruz Azul. The winner of that game will face PSG in the final.

Last year, Real Madrid won the tournament, defeating Mexican side Pachuca in the final. PSG won the Trophée des Champions in Qatar over AS Monaco in January.
