Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez (26) may be waning, which could see the European champions step up their interest in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé (19), who is also a target for Liverpool, as per a report from L’Équipe.
PSG are willing to meet Atletico Madrid’s price tag for Alvarez this summer, however, the player himself is dallying on the move. He reportedly favours a move to Barcelona, who have already lodged an unsuccessful bid for the former Manchester City forward. Les Parisiens will only bring in players who have a strong desire to play for the club and so Alvarez’s indecision is causing their interest to wane.
There are already talks with Diomandé, who is under contract at RB Leipzig until 2030, and PSG’s interest could be stepped up in light of the developments in their attempts to sign Alvarez. They will, however, have to contend with Liverpool’s interest. The Merseyside club also have PSG’s Bradley Barcola on their shortlist as they look to strengthen their attack after a disappointing season, at the end of which Arne Slot left the club.
