PSG v Atalanta: Bad news for Paris, another injury blow

João Neves, the 20-year-old midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, had to come off around the 58th minute during the match against Atalanta this Wednesday evening (Champions League Matchday 1) while he was a starter. The reason was a somewhat unclear pain. He was replaced by Gonçalo Ramos (24-year-old striker), with Lee Kang-In (24-year-old midfielder/forward) moving into midfield.

Neves did not go straight to the locker room when he came off, which is a relatively good sign. But caution is needed, as pain can sometimes turn out to be more serious later on. There will possibly be an examination to get a clearer picture. There is hope for a very quick return, which is to be hoped for as these injury scares are becoming troublesome. It would be a real blow to lose such a valuable player for several matches.
