PSG aim to recover from their stunning Coupe de France knockout when they entertain Lille at Parc des Princes this Friday night.
PSG hold an unbeaten streak across their previous nine clashes with Lille and aim to extend it further. Luis Enrique’s squad draws extra drive from their unbeaten Ligue 1 home record this season, remaining the only side yet to lose on home soil.
PSG occupy second position in the Ligue 1 standings, accumulating 39 points across 17 fixtures. Enrique has stressed the importance of channelling the cup disappointment into drive.
Paris Saint-Germain enter Friday’s fixture grappling with multiple personnel issues. Notably, defender Achraf Hakimi and midfielder Ibrahim Mbaye stay sidelined due to national team commitments at the Africa Cup of Nations. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov remains out with a fractured hand, and midfielder Lee Kang-in misses out owing to a thigh problem.
Midfielder João Neves has now been added to the treatment table, as the Portuguese ace deals with muscular discomfort and follows an individual training regimen apart from the main group, leaving his involvement uncertain. Midfielder Quentin Ndjantou persists with his hamstring rehab program.
On a brighter note, left-back Lucas Hernandez rejoined training sessions after sitting out Monday’s Paris FC cup game with an illness.
Possible PSG starting XI: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Zbarnyi, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Doue, Dembele, Mayulu.
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Friday, 16th January.
