PSV ‘to consider’ Joel Piroe move as Leeds confirm youth loan | OneFootball

Eredivisie champions PSV are said to be weighing a January move for Leeds United forward Joel Piroe amid injuries in their attack, according to Voetbal Primeur.

Piroe has struggled for minutes under Daniel Farke and has only two Premier League starts. His other starts came in the Carabao Cup defeat by Sheffield Wednesday and Sunday’s FA Cup third round win at Derby County.

“One name that was also mentioned is Piroe, who is obviously playing less at Leeds United. With the World Cup in mind, it might be beneficial for him to play a bit more for those play-off matches. As things stand now, Piroe primarily wants to keep competing at Leeds. And Leeds isn’t necessarily keen to lose him. But they’ll explore those options.”

The comments were made to Voetbal Primeur.

“That club is the most ingrained in me. And my time there didn’t end the way I had hoped. So, I will always be open to a return. It’s not realistic now. But who knows, later.” He was speaking to Voetbal International before the current season.

Leeds have confirmed academy striker Devon Brockie has joined Cleethorpes Town on a youth loan. The 18-year-old, a regular for the Under-21s in the National League Cup, EFL Trophy, Premier League International Cup and Premier League 2, is eligible to debut at Leek Town on Saturday.
